Klooni invites people to use the game as a base for their own DOOM themed projects.
The game comes with the art palette and map definition files, and even utilizes .ini files to let the modder change details about the game that are normally hardcoded.

Spear Resurrection Editor’s Version was released by AReyeP and MCS on May 23rd, 2002 for public use.
It includes the complete game files and map definition files, along with instructions to help users properly create new maps and games using Spear Resurrection as a base.

Spear End of Destiny Editor’s Version was released by AReyeP and MCS on December 1st 2006, enabling people to make new map packs. The download comes with the game files, and mapdata files, along with instructions to help understand how to make new stories out of it.
